For decades, Hideo Kojima was one of the top video game designers and directors at Konami, as well as the driving force behind the Metal Gear series. But in 2015, Kojima left Konami behind and struck out on his own. The relationship between the two sides was reportedly strained, with Geoff Keighley revealing Kojima was not allowed by Konami to attend that year’s Game Awards. Regardless, at least one producer at Konami would love to bring Kojima back to the franchise he created.
Via Video Game Chronicle, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater producer Noriaki Okamura expressed his admiration for Kojima during a live stream. Okamura also shared his desire to have Kojima return to Metal Gear Solid in the future.
“Just speaking for myself, personally, I’d like nothing better than t…
Christopher Nolan and his brother and collaborator Jonathan (Jonah to his friends) are officially Hollywood power players, with the latter winning Best Director at this year’s Academy Awards. It’s a far cry and 20-year plus journey on where they started, but their trajectory might not have been the same without The Dark Knight Trilogy. After the abysmal reaction to 1997’s Batman and Robin, Warner Bros. rebooted the Batman franchise and was helmed by then-up-and-comer Christopher Nolan. However, he almost didn’t take the job initially.
Nolan’s trilogy became the benchmark of DC Comics movies and put the budding director on Hollywood’s A-list. During a recent interview on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard, Jonathan Nolan said that it took some serious coaxing to get his b…
Capcom Fighting Collection feels like a family reunion. Ten games reside in this digital banquet, ranging from all-time fighting game favorites to a few relics of the past. They all play exceptionally well, particularly online, and each one is an arcade-perfect port. The main issue with the collection is balance, as half of the offerings are centered around a single series: Darkstalkers. While those games are good–the previously Japan-only titles are particularly appreciated–a little more variety in this collection would have pushed it up a tier or two. As it stands, it’s a little too much of a monster mash.
This isn’t to say there aren’t a few well-known, non-Darkstalkers games in the collection as well, as it showcases the breadth of Capcom’s arcade 2D figh…
The next beta update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection introduces the first iteration of a custom game browser and brings back a Halo 3 map, amid other enhancements and bug fixes. But the news isn’t all rosy: another map has been delayed out of its planned Season 6 launch. According to 343, the update is expected to launch sometime this week, during which testers can put it through its paces.
The custom game browser will only be available within the Halo: Reach interface for now, though 343 plans to add it to more games in phases. The browser will let you create, browse, and report. Create lets you create a session that will run on a dedicated server, letting you toggle settings like the minimum player count, repeat game option, and map and mode selections. You’ll also be able…
GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition features many of the original games’ cheat codes, but not all of them. Producer Rich Rosado told USA Today that some needed to be cut for technical reasons, though Rosado didn’t elaborate or reveal the specific cheat codes that don’t work.
The updated versions of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas were developed by Grove Street Games using the Unreal Engine. The engine is apparently one of the reasons why some of the cheat codes didn’t make the cut. In GameSpot’s own testing, we found that the invisible cars cheat for GTA III does not appear to work.

Director Chad Stahelski is known for his work on the John Wick series, but he’s also a big fan of Star Wars and would leap at the chance of making an entry in that series some day. Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Stahelski said he has some ideas for a Star Wars project, but he wondered if he might be the right fit for the traditionally more family friendly Disney.
“I’m a Star Wars guy,” Stahelski said (via IGN). “The first Star Wars changed my life path. Maybe someday out there, Disney if you’re listening, hit me in a couple of years. I have a couple of takes for Star Wars. I’d take a swing at that, see if Disney could survive me.”
Stahelski went on to say that “of course” he’s interested in making non-John Wick movies. However, one of the challenges with workin…
In addition to the PlayStation-exclusive Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions is making the Xbox-exclusive OD. In a new interview, the legendary game designer shared a small morsel about OD, referring to the game as “risky.”
He told Variety he wanted to work on a game outside the Death Stranding series, so he partnered with Microsoft for OD. “This is a game, but it’s a game like no other. I can’t go into too much detail, and it’s also hard to explain,” he said. “But it’s a bit risky and a new challenge for me within the realm of games.”

Mobile gaming is big business these days, and Lenovo’s next gaming phone plans to enter that market with some even bigger ideas. Officially revealed this week, the Legion Phone Duel 2 features beastly specs inside of a frame that is designed primarily for gaming. A 6.92-inch 2,460 x 1,080 144Hz high-refresh rate OLED screen sits on top of a new Snapdragon 888 processor, up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 storage, which all run off of Lenovo’s ZUI 12.5 operating system that is based on Android 11.
The rest of the phone doubles up on the hardware offerings, with two USB-C ports, two batteries, and two cooling fans that work alongside a vapor chamber to keep the processor from overheating. One of the more curious design decisions is that the two rear cameras, a 64-me…
